The Kili Climb

Fancy Dress Fundraising Weekend

This weekend, all eight Kili Climbers donned fancy dress costumes and ran around Brighton to raise funds and awareness for our big event. We dressed in all manor of funny costumes including; A bear, Toothbrush, Fly, Snowman, Pink Panther, Scooby Doo, Gorilla and Big Green Thing (Alex – What were you?!)

We started the frivolities with a pub crawl around various Brighton pubs, on Friday before some fun on the seafront in the evening sunshine. We visited the HaHa bar, Mash Tun, Fitzherberts, Victory, Geese and London Unity – a big thanks to all the bars who let us cause mayhem on a friday night. On Saturday, Brighton Pier kindly let us hover around the entrance badgering tourists and families for cash. We spend 5 long, hot hours posing for photos and chatting inanely to children.

The Finale – and by far the most productive day – was a trip to the Cricket, during which we all took part in the Mascot race at Half time! Sussex Cricket club kindly let us run around the pitch entertaining the crowds before collecting cash with our buckets at the end. A really big thanks to Ian and Lottie at the county ground, as well as all the puters who helped us raise £600 for Amani, bringing the total for the weekend to £1225!! A fantastic achievement by all. Photos to follow..!
